The Pearl Street Publishing Writing Fellowship Guidelines

In keeping with our mission this Writing Fellowship will be awarded to persons who are compelled to write even though their main life's work or circumstance would seem to deny them the opportunity. The intent of this Writing Fellowship is to aid talented writers with the successful completion of a work by providing editorial support and a stipend of $1000. At the successful conclusion of the Fellowship, Pearl Street Publishing may offer a contract to publish the work which was the subject of the Fellowship.

1. The February application period is closed. The next application period will be announced later in 2009.

2. The first step in the process is to e-mail a query regarding the completed work which you wish to be the subject of the Fellowship.

a. The query should consist of a summary of your manuscript which includes the nature of the work, the number of words, and a description of your work. (300 words or less)

b. The query email should also include biographical information about yourself. You should focus on that part of your experience and history which explains why you would benefit from the Fellowship. (300 words or less)

3. We will review the queries and contact you if you are a finalist for a Fellowship.
