The Title Poem:
Leaving Purdah
I could go on
whistling in the dark
letting the architecture of my writing
form the bone structure
for my soul's journey.
But I have launched these
sentenced salvos
to bridge the gaps between us.
Ideas are flying buttresses
in cavernous supporting roles
on which to hang my words.
Like Brunelleschi's duomo,
I'm spanning mighty distance here.
